Time 30m

Yield 4 , 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 large sweet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 dash white pepper

Steps:

  • Scrub the sweet potatoes and leave the skin on (best part.).
  • I like using a french fry cutter (it works sort of like those apple corer/slicer things) for this but if you don't have one, just use a knife to cut the potatoes into shoestrings.
  • Put the raw fries into a mixing bowl, and pour in the olive oil. Toss well to coat.
  • Add the seasonings and toss well again.
  • Arrange the fries on a baking sheet and bake at 400F for 10 minutes.
  • Turn the fries with a spatula and bake for another 10 minutes.
  • Blot any excess oil with paper towels, serve, and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: This recipe works best with sweet potatoes or yams that are firm and not too soft. Avoid potatoes that are bruised or have blemishes.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If the potatoes are cut too thick, they will not cook through properly. If they are cut too thin, they will become too crispy and dry.
  • Season the potatoes well: The seasoning is what gives these fries their flavor. Be sure to use a generous amount of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add other spices, such as chili powder, cumin, or paprika, to taste.
  • Coat the potatoes in oil: This will help them crisp up in the oven. You can use olive oil, avocado oil, or any other high-heat cooking oil.
  • Bake the potatoes at a high temperature: This will help them cook quickly and evenly. 425 degrees Fahrenheit is a good temperature to use.
  • Flip the potatoes halfway through cooking: This will help them cook evenly on all sides.
  • Serve the fries immediately: These fries are best when served hot and crispy. You can dip them in ketchup, mayonnaise, or any other dipping sauce of your choice.

Conclusion:

These 30-minute seasoned sweet potato yam fries are a delicious and healthy snack or side dish. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The fries are also a good source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy snack or side dish, give these fries a try!
