Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Oil a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Place the onion and carrots into a saucepan, and pour in the beef broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and reduce heat to a simmer; cook, stirring often, until the vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes. Set the veggies and broth aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs, and stir in bread crumbs, basil, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes to moisten the crumbs, and lightly mix in the turkey, beef, and pork sausage. Mix in the cooked onions, carrots, and beef broth. Place the mixture into the prepared loaf pan. In a bowl, mix the tomato soup, balsamic vinegar, and Dijon mustard together, and spread the mixture over the meat loaf.
- Bake until the loaf is no longer pink in the center and an instant-read meat thermometer reads at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), about 1 1/2 hours.

BETTER THAN MOM'S MEATLOAF
My mom's classic meatloaf was lacking in flavor and the topping was way too sweet. This "better than mom's" version still has lots of old-school appeal but has been kicked up a notch with a rich and savory flavor, plus we said goodbye to the sugary sweet topping. Sliced meatloaf leftovers make the best sandwiches. I like mine with mustard, cheese, and grilled onions!

Tips:
- Choose the right ground beef. Use a combination of 80% lean and 20% fat ground beef for a moist and flavorful meatloaf.
- Add moisture to the meatloaf. Incorporate bread crumbs, milk, and eggs into the meatloaf mixture to help bind the ingredients and keep the meatloaf moist.
- Season the meatloaf well. Use a variety of herbs and spices to flavor the meatloaf, such as garlic, onion, thyme, basil, oregano, and salt and pepper.
- Don't overmix the meatloaf. Overmixing can result in a tough meatloaf. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Form the meatloaf into a loaf shape. Place the meatloaf mixture into a greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf shape.
- Bake the meatloaf at a high temperature. Bake the meatloaf at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the meatloaf reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
Conclusion:
Meatloaf is a classic comfort food that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a versatile dish that can be customized to suit your own taste preferences. By following these tips, you can make a delicious and moist meatloaf that your family and friends will love.
