This is a fruit loaf cake, using All Bran as the main ingredient.

Provided by amyndaz

Time 1h30m

Yield Serves 8

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup All Bran
1 cup Milk
1 cup Self raising flour
1/2 cup or 1 cup Soft brown sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
A standard loaf tin

Steps:

  • Grease and line your loaf tin, and preheat the oven to 170C/fan 150C/gas 5.
  • Use a cup to measure the ingredients (I use my small measuring jug featured in the photograph.)
  • Pour the All bran and milk into a bowl. Leave the All Bran to soak up the milk (about 5-10 mins.)
  • Add the self raising flour and sugar to your mixture and stir.
  • Cut up your dried fruit (if using prunes and apricots) and dust with some of the self raising flour. Add the fruit to your mixture and stir.
  • The mixture should be thick and gloopy, if it isn't you may wish to add a bit more milk. Transfer the mixture to your loaf tin and put in the oven for 1 hr -1 hr 30 mins. Check on the loaf after 1 hr by putting a knife through the middle, if it comes out clean the loaf is cooked, if not leave it in a little longer.

I made this yesterday from the recipe on the All-Bran packet. I just love this banana bread! It has a great taste and is low fat and high fibre! Perfect for morning tea or a snack. I like mine with just a little jam or peanut butter spread and served warm.

Steps:

  • get a mixing bowl and had one cup of allbran cerel

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be. If you don't have any ripe bananas on hand, you can ripen them quickly by placing them in a paper bag with an apple for a few days.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your bread tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Let the batter rest: Allowing the batter to rest for 5-10 minutes before baking will help it to rise better.
  • Bake the bread at a high temperature: Baking the bread at a high temperature will create a crispy crust and a moist interior.
  • Cool the bread completely before slicing: Slicing the bread while it is still warm will cause it to crumble. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing it.

Conclusion:

All-bran loaf is a delicious and healthy bread that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. It is a good source of fiber, which can help to keep you feeling full and satisfied. All-bran loaf is also a good source of vitamins and minerals, including potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus. If you are looking for a healthy and satisfying bread, all-bran loaf is a great choice.
