GARLIC ANGEL HAIR SHRIMP

Garlic Angel Hair Shrimp image

This was inspired by one of my favorite restaurant pasta dishes. I keep the lemon separate until the end due to a picky family member, but you could add it earlier if everyone likes lemon. Do not use pre-cooked shrimp and don't overcook the shrimp.

½ cup diced onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
¾ cup diced tomatoes
1 bunch fresh asparagus spears, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
salt to taste
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste

1 1/2 minced fresh oregano
1 1/2 1/2 tsp minced fresh parsley
1 1/2 tsp minced fresh thyme
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Lemon wedges

Add shrimp; stir-fry until pink, 2-3 minutes. Remove; keep warm. 2. In same skillet, stir-fry the next 5 ingredients in remaining oil until vegetables are crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Add wine and seasonings. Return shrimp to pan. 3. Drain pasta; add to shrimp mixture and toss gently. Cook and stir until heated through, 1-2 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Tips:

  • Choose the right shrimp. Large shrimp (21-25 count per pound) are best for this recipe. Look for shrimp that are pink, firm, and have no odor.
  • Cook the shrimp properly. Shrimp should be cooked quickly over high heat. Overcooking will make them tough and rubbery.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. When cooking the shrimp, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Use fresh asparagus. Fresh asparagus is best for this recipe. Look for spears that are bright green and have no brown spots.
  • Cook the asparagus al dente. Asparagus should be cooked al dente, which means it should be tender but still have a slight crunch.
  • Make sure the sauce is flavorful. The sauce for this dish should be flavorful and creamy. Use a good quality white wine and Parmesan cheese.
  • Serve immediately. This dish is best served immediately after it is made. The shrimp and asparagus will lose their flavor if they are allowed to sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Angel hair pasta with shrimp and asparagus is a delicious and easy-to-make dish. It is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal. The shrimp and asparagus are cooked quickly and easily, and the sauce is flavorful and creamy. This dish is sure to please everyone at the table.
