BAKED BREADED COD

I found this on the internet and it is easy, quick and delicious. Cooking times will depend on the thickness of the fish but I am using the time it took to cook a 3 inch thick piece of cod. I imagine this recipe would work with other light white fish also.

Tips:

  • Choose the right fish. Cod is a great choice for this recipe because it is a mild-flavored fish that holds up well to being breaded and baked. Other good options include tilapia, flounder, and haddock.
  • Use fresh breadcrumbs. Fresh breadcrumbs will give your cod a crispy coating. You can make your own breadcrumbs by pulsing bread in a food processor, or you can buy them pre-made.
  • Season the breadcrumbs well. The breadcrumbs are what will give your cod its flavor, so be sure to season them well with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices.
  • Use a light hand when breading the cod. You don't want to bread the cod too heavily, or it will be greasy and soggy. Just a light coating of breadcrumbs is all you need.
  • Preheat your oven. This will help to ensure that the cod cooks evenly.
  • Bake the cod until it is cooked through. The cod is cooked through when it flakes easily with a fork. Depending on the thickness of your fillets, this will take about 10-12 minutes.
  • Serve the cod hot. Cod is best served hot out of the oven. You can serve it with a variety of sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or rice.

Conclusion:

Baked breaded cod is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It is also a healthy option, as cod is a low-fat fish that is high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy.
