Time 50m

Yield 8 breads, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/2 cups 180g bread flour
1 1/2 cups 180g wholewheat flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 cup 240g water
1 tablespoon 15g vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Combine flour, salt and baking powder.
  • Stir in water and oil until everything comes together to form a dough.
  • Shape the dough into your favorite sizes and forms. Optionally spray with water before putting into the oven.
  • Bake at 200C or 400F for app. 20 minutes for small breads and app. 40 minutes for large breads. (It is done when the color is right and the internal temperature reaches 80C or 175°F If the color is getting too dark, cover with foil.).

### Tips
  1. Use the right amount of baking powder. Too little and your bread will be dense and heavy; too much and it will be bitter and crumbly.
  2. Make sure your baking powder is fresh. Old baking powder will not react as well and your bread will not be as fluffy.
  3. Sift your baking powder before using it. This will help to remove any lumps and ensure that it is evenly distributed throughout your batter or dough.
  4. Add baking powder to your batter or dough at the end of the mixing process. This will help to prevent the baking powder from reacting prematurely and losing its leavening power.
  5. Bake your bread at a high temperature. This will help to set the crust and prevent the bread from becoming dense and gummy.
### Conclusion Baking powder is a versatile ingredient that can be used to make a variety of breads. By following these tips, you can ensure that your baking powder bread turns out light, fluffy, and delicious.
