This is a different take on golden milk that ups the 'help-you-sleep factor' by adding in a banana (which naturally contains Tryptophan). You can serve this at room temp, warm it up, refrigerate, or even freeze it for an anytime, any- season drink.

1 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk
1 medium very ripe banana
½ cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 ½ teaspoons maple syrup
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch ground turmeric, or to taste
1 pinch ground cinnamon, or to taste
1 pinch ground ginger, or to taste

Steps:

  • Combine almond milk, banana, coconut milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger in a blender; blend until completely smooth.
  • Pour mixture into a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring constantly, just until milk is warm. Do not bring to a simmer, or milk will curdle. Serve immediately.

¼ teaspoon ground ginger
1 pinch ground black pepper
2 pods cardamom
2 saffron strands (such as Zaran®), or more to taste

Steps:

  • Pour 1/3 cup milk into a saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat until hot but not boiling, about 1 minute. Add turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, and saffron; stir until combined. Pour remaining milk into the saucepan and cook over medium heat until flavors blend, for 3 to 5 minutes more.
