Time 17m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2½ cups Original Bisquick mix
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, cold
3/4 cup milk ((At least 2% milkfat, see notes for skim and non-fat))
2 Tbsp butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF. Grate very cold, unsalted butter and place in the fridge or freezer until needed. You can also use a food processor or pastry blender to combine the ingredients.
  • Using a medium-sized bowl, add dry ingredients and stir well to combine. Create a well in the center of the Bisquick mixture. Pour in the milk and add grated butter to the well, and stir, just until the dough comes together and away from the walls of the bowl (about 30 seconds). If biscuit dough is difficult to stir, add 1-2 Tbsp of milk. For flaky, tender biscuits, do not over mix.
  • Grease or line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a tablespoon or ice cream scoop, scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet 2" apart. This recipe makes 6-8 biscuits.
  • Bake for 10 - 12 minutes, until golden in color. Brush biscuits with melted butter and serve warm.

  • In a large bowl, stir together the Bisquick baking mix and milk just until it comes together and a sticky dough forms.
  • Drop the dough in heaping tablespoonful amounts onto your prepared baking sheet. Transfer onto the center rack of your oven and bake for 8-12 minutes (depending on the size of your biscuits) until the Bisquick biscuits are a light golden brown.

Tips:

  • Use a combination of all-purpose flour and Bisquick mix for a lighter, fluffier biscuit.
  • Make sure the butter is very cold before cutting it into the flour mixture. This will help create flaky layers in the biscuits.
  • Don't overwork the dough. Overworking will make the biscuits tough.
  • Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet. Do not flatten the dough.
  • Bake the biscuits in a hot oven until they are golden brown on top and cooked through in the center.
  • Serve the biscuits warm with butter, honey, or your favorite gravy.

Conclusion:

Bisquick drop biscuits are a quick and easy bread option that can be served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are also a great addition to potlucks and picnics. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a batch of delicious, homemade biscuits that the whole family will love.
