BROILED HAM STEAK WITH MUSTARD GLAZE
I made these tasty Ham Steaks for New Years Day along with Hoppin' John and sauteed cabbage. Easy, fast and good! For the ham,I could not find the regular large ham steak so I used two 22 oz. packages of Hillshire Farms Brown Sugar Ham Steaks, each package had 4 thick slices of bone in ham and this worked perfectly for our family. I also doubled the amount for the glaze to accomadate the additional ham.

Tips:
- To ensure the ham steak is cooked evenly, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The ham steak should reach an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C) for medium-rare, 145°F (63°C) for medium, or 150°F (66°C) for well-done.
- If you don't have a meat thermometer, you can also check the ham steak for doneness by cutting into it. The ham steak should be slightly pink in the center for medium-rare, or cooked through with no pink for well-done.
- To make the mustard glaze, you can use any type of mustard you like. Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, or even honey mustard can all be used. You can also add other spices or herbs to the glaze, such as garlic, thyme, or rosemary.
- If you don't have a broiler, you can also cook the ham steak in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the ham steak for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Serve the ham steak with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
Conclusion:
Broiled ham steak with mustard glaze is a quick and easy meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. The ham steak is juicy and flavorful, and the mustard glaze adds a tangy sweetness that complements the ham perfectly. This recipe is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
