Tips:

  • Choose the right type of chili: For this recipe, a traditional beef chili works best. You can use your favorite homemade recipe or a store-bought variety. Feel free to experiment with different types of chili to find one that you enjoy.
  • Use high-quality macaroni: The type of macaroni you use can make a big difference in the final dish. Look for a high-quality pasta that is made with durum wheat. This type of pasta will hold its shape better and won't get mushy.
  • Don't overcook the macaroni: When you're cooking the macaroni, be careful not to overcook it. Overcooked macaroni will be mushy and will not hold its shape well in the chili.
  • Add the chili and macaroni together at the end: Once the chili and macaroni are cooked, add them together and stir until combined. This will help to prevent the macaroni from getting overcooked.
  • Top with your favorite toppings: Once the chili mac is cooked, you can top it with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped onions.
