Cheesy Green Chili Frittata image

Perfect for a Sunday brunch but wonderful any ol' time. Cook's Notes: This recipe can be easily doubled. It is plenty as is if there are side dishes to accompany it but may not be enough for more than 3 or 4 eaters if it is the only dish. Also, feel free to garnish with yummy things like sour cream, pico de gallo, salsa, avocado slices, etc.

10 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 lb butter, melted and slightly cooled
2 cups small curd cottage cheese
1 lb monterey jack cheese, grated
3 (4 ounce) cans diced green chilies

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before starting, measure and prepare all ingredients. This will ensure a smooth and efficient cooking process.
  • Choose High-Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the taste of your frittata. Use fresh vegetables, flavorful cheeses, and high-quality eggs.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pan: Make sure the frittata mixture is evenly distributed in the pan. Overcrowding can result in uneven cooking and a soggy texture.
  • Cook on Medium Heat: Cooking the frittata over medium heat will prevent the bottom from burning while allowing the center to cook evenly.
  • Don't Flip the Frittata: Unlike a regular omelet, a frittata should not be flipped during cooking. This can break up the frittata and result in a messy appearance.
  • Let the Frittata Cool Slightly Before Serving: This will allow the frittata to set and make it easier to slice and serve.
