Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup(s) chocolate chips
1/2 cup(s) creamy peanut butter
3 1/2 cup(s) cheerios
1/2 cup(s) peanuts, chopped, optional

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together. Stir until smooth. Gently fold in cereal. Spoon individual clusters onto wax paper. Cool in refridgerator until set.

Tips:

  • Use fresh Cheerios for the best results. Stale Cheerios will not hold their shape as well and will be more likely to crumble.
  • If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can test the sugar mixture by dropping a small amount into a glass of cold water. If the mixture forms a hard ball, it is ready.
  • Be careful not to overcook the sugar mixture. If it gets too hot, it will burn and turn bitter.
  • Work quickly when dipping the Cheerios into the chocolate mixture. The chocolate will start to set quickly, so you don't want to take too long.
  • If you want to make the clusters even more festive, you can add some chopped nuts, sprinkles, or other decorations before the chocolate sets.

Conclusion:

Chocolate Cheerio Clusters are a fun and easy treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or just a sweet snack. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and festive treat that will be sure to please everyone.
