1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour

8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
4 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
4 ounces Velveeta® processed cheese
½ cup panko bread crumbs

  • Melt the butter in the bottom of an oven-proof fry pan. Add the flour and stir over heat until just beginning to brown - don't let it get too brown. Add the rest of the milk; stir to fully incorporate.
  • Add all of the cheeses and stir to melt. Once melted, add the cooked macaroni. Stir to mix.
  • Cover the top of the mac and cheese with panko crumbs and place the pan in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until it is bubbling and the bread crumbs are slightly browned.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality cheese: Velveeta is a processed cheese product, so it's important to use a good quality brand. Look for a brand that is smooth and creamy, and that melts well.
  • Don't overcook the macaroni: Macaroni should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. Overcooked macaroni will be mushy and unpleasant.
  • Make sure the cheese sauce is thick and creamy: The cheese sauce should be thick enough to coat the macaroni evenly. If the sauce is too thin, it will be runny and watery.
  • Add some additional flavorings: Feel free to add some additional flavorings to the cheese sauce, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika. You can also add some cooked vegetables, such as broccoli or cauliflower.
  • Serve the mac and cheese immediately: Mac and cheese is best served immediately after it is made. The cheese sauce will start to thicken as it cools, so it's important to serve it while it's still hot and creamy.

Conclusion:

Velveeta mac and cheese is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and loved by people of all ages. With its creamy, cheesy sauce and tender macaroni, it's the perfect dish for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. So next time you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, give Velveeta mac and cheese a try!
