COUNTRY HAM DIP

Provided by Zinnia Martinez

Categories     Meat Appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 8

16 oz cream cheese
1 c sour cream
1/4 c chopped onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 c ground country ham
1 c chopped pecans
1 tsp butter
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together cream cheese and sour cream, chopped onion, chopped ham and garlic powder.
  • 2. Put into greased casserole dish.
  • 3. Top with chopped pecans, butter (melted), and worcestershire sauce.
  • 4. Bake at 350 until bubbly.

Tips:

  • Choose the right country ham. Look for a ham that is aged for at least 1 year, and has a deep red color. Avoid hams that are too salty or dry.
  • Soak the country ham overnight. This will help to remove some of the salt and make the ham more tender.
  • Shred the country ham finely. This will help to create a smooth and creamy dip.
  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the dip will taste. Use fresh herbs, spices, and cheeses.
  • Don't overmix the dip. Overmixing can make the dip tough and rubbery. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Serve the dip chilled. This will help to firm up the dip and make it easier to spread.

Conclusion:

Country ham dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover country ham, and it is sure to be a hit with your guests. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give country ham dip a try!
