IKEA SWEDISH MEATBALLS

Ikea Swedish Meatballs image

I know there is already an "ikea swedish meatballs" recipe on here, but this one is right from the source :) This calls for "unsweetened rusk flour" which is obviously not available in the US. It literally translates to "toasted breadcrumbs" So I just use PLAIN breadcrumbs, I can't taste a difference in the meatballs. You could also toast up some panko in butter in a pan and out them in a baggie of some sort and crush them till their fine...but either way... I'm not sure of the "yield" here it depends how many meatballs you gove people to eat and how big the meatballs are made ;)

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will directly impact the flavor of your cream sauce. Use fresh, full-fat milk and cream, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When you're cooking the meatballs, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly and will make it more difficult to get a nice sear on them.
  • Use a large skillet: When you're making the cream sauce, use a large skillet so that you have plenty of room to whisk and stir. This will help to prevent the sauce from curdling.
  • Cook the sauce over medium heat: Cook the cream sauce over medium heat so that it has time to thicken slowly and evenly. This will help to prevent it from curdling or burning.
  • Don't boil the sauce: Never boil the cream sauce. This will cause it to curdle and will ruin the flavor.
  • Season the sauce to taste: Season the cream sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. You may also want to add a touch of garlic powder or onion powder.

Conclusion:

This IKEA-style cream sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used with a variety of dishes. It's perfect for meatballs, chicken, fish, or pasta. The sauce is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give this cream sauce a try.
