Tips:

  • Choose fresh, young okra: Look for okra pods that are small, tender, and free of blemishes. Avoid pods that are large, woody, or have brown spots.
  • Trim the okra properly: Cut off the stem end of each okra pod and then slice the pod into 1-inch pieces. Do not slice the okra too thinly, as it will become slimy when cooked.
  • Soak the okra in vinegar: This helps to reduce the okra's sliminess. Soak the okra in a bowl of vinegar for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Cook the okra over high heat: This helps to prevent the okra from becoming slimy. Sauté the okra in a hot skillet with a little oil until it is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the corn at the end of cooking: This prevents the corn from overcooking and becoming tough.
  • Season the dish to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a little bit of sugar to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes.

Conclusion:

Creamy Sweet Corn with Okra is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for summer cookouts.
