I love this simple dish. It's so easy and tastes great. I usually use a homemade barbecue sauce but a good hickory flavored sauce is good too. I like to freeze this in individual portions to make a quick dinner when I don't want to cook.

  • 9. This recipe makes approximately 7-8 cups of shredded beef. Can be covered and refrigerated for up to 4 days for later use.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast, brisket, or short ribs are all good options for slow-cooked barbecue beef.
  • Brown the beef before cooking: This will help to develop flavor and color.
  • Use a good quality barbecue sauce: There are many different brands and flavors of barbecue sauce available, so choose one that you like.
  • Cook the beef on low heat for a long time: This will help to make the beef tender and flavorful.
