Steps:
- While I boil the pork for 20-30 minutes to decrease fat, I mix all other ingredients together in a large enough bowl and stir to mix well.
- Put pork in the crock pot, adding sauce as you go, until you get to about an inch from the top.
- Use as much sauce as you can as it will be needed later to put over the rice.
- With a big spoon, give a stir to blend all together.
- Put on the lid, turn on high and let it cook for about 5 hours.
- After that, you may want to keep it a little longer on low to keep it hot.
- Serve this with some white rice, baked beans (or just pork& beans), cole slaw and some toasted garlic bread and you have yourself a meal.
- Be sure to use lots of the sauce over the pork and rice.

Steps:
- 1. Ribs: Sprinkle both sides with the garlic powder and Everglades seasoning. Place a paper towel over top and allow to rest while you make the sauce.
- 2. Sauce: Place all ingredients, except chopped bacon and the liquid smoke, in a saucepan. Mix well and heat stirring occasionally. Do not allow to burn. Once it begins to come to a soft boil, remove from heat, stir in bacon bits. Place the sauce in a bowl or glass measuring cup and cover with Saran Wrap. Set aside. (Do not refrigerate)
- 3. Spray your Crock Pot with cooking spray. Place ribs in and sprinkle with the mesquite liquid smoke. I used a cap full. Cook on low for 4 1/2 hours.
- 4. Check meat after the 4 1/2 hours. Should be a little pink. Drain the liquid and cover the ribs with the BBQ sauce and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- 5. My Crock Pot cooks a little hotter than normal so you may have to adjust your times or cook until a meat thermometer reads 145°. I must add that your house is going to smell so yummy while this is cooking. Enjoy.
BBQ COUNTRY RIBS IN CROCK POT
This delicious and easy recipe came from a TV program, Talk Of The Town, that features local cooks. It is so easy I had to give it a try. It is so good that I make it often. I added the mushrooms and sometimes add some hot sauce depending on the BBQ sauce I use.

CROCK POT BBQ COUNTRY STYLE RIBS
I didn't want to just throw them into the crock pot and let them cook. I wanted more flavor and more thickness to my bbq sauce,so I did something different and they turned out great.

Steps:
- 1. Place ribs, onion and garlic in crock pot.
- 2. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until pork is cooked through and tender (your time may vary with your appliance).
- 3. Drain ribs and onion from crock pot.
- 4. Discard any juices from crock pot and return meat and onions to crock pot.
- 5. Stir together barbecue sauce and jam until blended.
- 6. Pour over ribs, stirring lightly to coat.
- 7. Cook on high for 30 minutes or until sauce has thickened and ribs are glazed.
Tips:
- To achieve tender and fall-off-the-bone ribs, cook them low and slow in the crock pot for at least 6-8 hours. Longer cooking time results in more tender ribs.
- Use a good quality BBQ sauce for the best flavor. Experiment with different brands and flavors to find your favorite.
- Enhance the flavor by adding a rub to the ribs before cooking. A mixture of brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and chili powder works well.
- For a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the crock pot before cooking the ribs.
- Serve the ribs with your favorite sides such as coleslaw, baked beans, and corn on the cob.
Conclusion:
Cooking country-style ribs in a crock pot is an easy and convenient way to enjoy delicious and tender ribs at home. With just a few simple ingredients and a bit of time, you can create a mouthwatering dish that will satisfy even the most discerning palate.
