Time 6h20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 can(s) (10.75 oz. each) cream of chicken soup
2 Tbsp butter
1 c diced carrots
1 c frozen peas
1 onion, minced
1 tsp onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 c chicken broth
1 - 2 pkg (10 oz. each) refrigerated biscuit dough

Steps:

  • 1. Place the chicken breast on the bottom of a 5 or 6-quart slow cooker. Top with soup, butter, vegetables, onion powder, salt, pepper and onion. ( I sometimes just use 2 cups of mixed frozen vegetables in place of the peas and carrots.) Pour the chicken broth over the soup mixture. The chicken should be covered; if not, add more broth. Place the cover on the slow cooker and turn on high. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours. Approximately 1 hour before serving, remove the cover and pull the chicken apart in small pieces or shred. Tear the refrigerator biscuit dough into pieces and place it on top of the chicken mixture in the slow cooker. Replace the cover and cook another hour or until the biscuits are done all the way through. ( you can also take the liner out of the cooker and bake at 400 degrees, until biscuits are cooked. I sometimes do this if in a hurry.)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 can(s) (10.75 oz. each) cream of chicken soup
2 Tbsp butter
2 cups frozen peas and carrots
1 onion, minced
1 tsp onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 c milk
1 - 2 pkg (10 oz. each) refrigerated biscuit dough

Steps:

  • 1. Chop chicken into 1 inch cubes. 2. Add chicken to crock pot with soup, butter, milk, onion, salt and pepper. 3. Cook on low for 4 hours. An hour before it is done taste to check for seasoning. Stir in vegetables and tear up biscuits and add to the top. Turn up crock pot to high and cover. Cook until biscuits are done. *You can transfer the pan of the crock pot to the oven and cook at 400 degrees until biscuits are done and brown*

Tips:

  • Prep your chicken: Before cooking, pat the chicken dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, or your favorite seasonings, for extra flavor.
  • Use a quality slow cooker: Invest in a slow cooker that evenly distributes heat and maintains a consistent temperature. This will help your chicken and biscuits cook evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker: Make sure there is enough space for the chicken and biscuits to cook without overcrowding. Overcrowding can prevent even cooking and lead to soggy biscuits.
  • Cook on low and slow: The key to tender chicken and fluffy biscuits is to cook them on low and slow. This allows the chicken to cook thoroughly while the biscuits rise and bake perfectly.
  • Check the chicken and biscuits regularly: Keep an eye on the chicken and biscuits as they cook. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). The biscuits should be golden brown and cooked through.

Crock-Pot chicken and biscuits is a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and loved by people of all ages.
