Number Of Ingredients 16

5 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 cup chopped celery
2 cups chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1 cup barbecue sauce (I used John Boy and Billy's hot & spicy grillin' sauce)
1 cup water

1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt

  • Put pork in the crock pot, adding sauce as you go, until you get to about an inch from the top.
  • Use as much sauce as you can as it will be needed later to put over the rice.
  • With a big spoon, give a stir to blend all together.
  • Put on the lid, turn on high and let it cook for about 5 hours.
  • After that, you may want to keep it a little longer on low to keep it hot.
  • Serve this with some white rice, baked beans (or just pork& beans), cole slaw and some toasted garlic bread and you have yourself a meal.
  • Be sure to use lots of the sauce over the pork and rice.

CROCK POT BBQ PORK BACK RIBS

Crock Pot BBQ Pork Back Ribs image

I am not the greatest at cooking ribs on the grill unless I par boil them first. This recipe is always a hit and turns our wonderful, tender and delicious every time I make it.

Provided by Janet Crow

Categories     Ribs

Time 18h

Number Of Ingredients 8

2.5-3 lb pork back ribs
your favorite bbq sauce
3 Tbsp all purpose seasoning (recipe below)
2 Tbsp smoke paprika
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp adobo
1 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all the ingredients for the all purpose seasoning, store in an airtight container and use as needed.
  • 2. Cut the ribs in half and rub them all over with the all purpose seasoning. Place them in a ziploc bag and put in the fridge overnight. When ready to cook, place the ribs on their sides in the crock pot with the meaty side facing the outer part of the crock pot (I used a 4 quart crock pot for mine). Pour in any juice left in the ziploc bag. Pour 3/4 C. of BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, spooning the sauce over the ribs every so often as they cook.
  • 3. When you are ready to serve them, cover a baking sheet with tinfoil, turn the broiler on high and carefully remove the ribs to the baking sheet. Brush with a little more BBQ sauce and pop under the broiler to 2-3 minutes to add more color to the ribs. This is really optional, I do not always do it unless we have company coming for supper.

TEXAS STYLE FALL OF THE BONE CROCK POT PORK RIBS

Texas Style Fall of the Bone Crock Pot Pork Ribs image

Make and share this Texas Style Fall of the Bone Crock Pot Pork Ribs recipe from Food.com.

Provided by chilady61

Categories     Pork

Time 5h20m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

cryovacor any brand pork ribs
1/4 cup favorite dry rub seasonings
1/4 cup barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • This recipe is so simple and easy and tastes so delicious. I use the cryovac Kansas City style pork rib slabs, but any style would work except boneless pork ribs. With those you would need some kind of rack in the bottom of your crock pot so they don't rest in the accumulation of fat and juices while cooking. Rub the rack of ribs with your favorite dry rub. If you don't have a favorite, you can make a quick dry rub with seasoned salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder and onion powder (or any combination of those). You can do a marinate over night, but I like the way the dry rubs taste. For easier clean up use a crock pot liner. Place the ribs in the crock standing on their side. No need to add any liquid. Cook on low for 8 or more hours, or on high for 5 hours. The ribs are done when you see them pulling away from the bone. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the ribs carefully from the crockpot and place on a flat pan, meaty side up. Brush or pour on and spread BBQ sauce, as much or as little as you like. Cook in oven for 10-15 minutes, just long enough to carmelize the sugars in the sauce. Remove from oven, slice into servings. Serve with potato salad, ranch beans, pickles and onions. Yummy!

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Baby back ribs are the most popular choice for crock pot cooking, as they are relatively tender and cook quickly. However, you can also use spare ribs, which are meatier and have a bit more flavor, but will take longer to cook.
  • Brown the ribs before cooking: Browning the ribs helps to develop their flavor and create a nice crust. To do this, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the ribs on all sides until they are browned.
  • Use a flavorful rub: A good rub will help to enhance the flavor of the ribs. You can use a store-bought rub or make your own. Some popular ingredients for pork rib rubs include brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Cook the ribs on low heat: Cooking the ribs on low heat will help to tenderize them and prevent them from drying out. Cook the ribs for 6-8 hours, or until they are fall-off-the-bone tender.
  • Add liquid to the crock pot: Adding liquid to the crock pot will help to keep the ribs moist and prevent them from sticking to the pot. You can use water, broth, or even beer.
  • Let the ribs rest before serving: After the ribs are cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Conclusion:

Crock pot pork ribs are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a rack of tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs that will wow your friends and family. So next time you're looking for a simple and delicious meal, give crock pot pork ribs a try.
