We stay so busy that I have made this as a quick meal served with cornbread or with just crackers. I try to keep extra cans in the cupboard so if need be I can make it at the last minute. My husband likes to rewarm it to eat the next day!!

  • Add some spices and herbs: This will help to give the stew a more complex flavor. Some good options include garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
  • Use a good quality beef broth: This will help to give the stew a richer flavor. You can also use water, but the stew will not be as flavorful.
  • Cook the stew on low for 8-10 hours: This will allow the beef to become very tender and the flavors to meld together.
