YUMMYLICIOUS JAPANESE BEEF CROQUETTES

Yummylicious Japanese Beef Croquettes image

Yummy Japanese croquettes combine ground beef with mashed potatoes and onions; formed into patties, then coated with panko and deep fried to a golden brown. Absolutely mouth-watering! They make a delicious snack! I prefer to make them in smaller bite-size pieces so it's easier to pick up with fingers. Serve with Tonkatsu sauce available at Japanese stores or major supermarkets.

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 medium russet potatoes, peeled, and chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 onions, chopped
¾ pound ground beef
4 teaspoons light soy sauce
all-purpose flour for coating
2 eggs, beaten
panko bread crumbs
½ cup oil for frying

Steps:

  • Add potatoes to a large pot of salted water, and bring to a boil; cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain, pour potatoes into a large bowl. Stir in butter, and mash with a fork or potato masher. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in onions, and cook until soft. Stir in beef and soy sauce. Cook, stirring continuously, until beef is browned and all the liquid is evaporated. Combine beef and onions with potatoes, and stir well.
  • Heat 1/2 cup oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Shape potato and beef mixture into 10 similar-size balls, and flatten into patties. Dredge patties in flour. Then dip in egg, and coat with panko bread crumbs. Carefully place patties into oil, and fry until golden brown on each side.

CHOCOLATE MEXICANO

Chocolate Mexicano image

Chocolate Mexicano is a delicious and popular drink in my family, especially once the nights get colder. It is richly flavored with cocoa and a pop of spice to warm up your corazón. The blend of cinnamon and chocolate gives you a different flavor and aroma than ordinary hot chocolate. So, gather your family and community because this is meant to be shared.

Time 20m

Yield 16 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

Four 3-ounce tablets Mexican chocolate
1 gallon milk (it can be any kind of milk your family drinks)
1 stick cinnamon
One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar (or to your liking)

Steps:

  • Chop up the chocolate tablets (no need to be fancy since they are going to dissolve into the milk).
  • Add the milk and cinnamon stick to large pot over medium-high heat. Once you see the first tiny bubbles begin to appear in the milk, add the chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and sugar and continue heating, stirring slowly but constantly, until the chocolate has melted. Add additional sugar if desired. Do not let the milk boil; if it looks as if it is going to start boiling, turn off the heat for a few minutes, continue to stir, then turn the burner back on at a lower setting. Once all the chocolate is melted, fish out the cinnamon stick and trash it. It's done its job.
  • Carefully pour your chocolate Mexicano into your favorite mug and enjoy with your family and friends.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful tomatoes for the salsa. This will give the croquettes a delicious, fresh flavor.
  • Use a variety of cheeses in the croquettes. This will create a rich, complex flavor.
  • Don't overmix the croquette mixture. Overmixing will make the croquettes tough.
  • Fry the croquettes in hot oil until they are golden brown. This will help to keep the croquettes crispy.
  • Serve the croquettes immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Conclusion:

Croquetas Mexicano are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. They are perfect for parties or potlucks. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful and satisfying dish that everyone will enjoy. So next time you are looking for a new recipe to try, give Croquetas Mexicano a try. You won't be disappointed!
