Tips:

  • To enhance the flavor of the pork, use a combination of bone-in and boneless cuts. Bone-in pork will impart a richer flavor to the stew.
  • Sear the pork in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. This will help to develop a nice brown crust on the pork, which will add flavor to the stew.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in the stew, such as potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions. This will add color, texture, and flavor to the dish.
  • Be generous with the spices in the stew. Cuban-style pork stew is typically well-seasoned with garlic, cumin, oregano, and bay leaves.
  • Simmer the stew for at least 1 hour, or until the pork is fall-apart tender. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Serve the stew with a side of rice, beans, or crusty bread.

Conclusion:

Cuban-style pork stew is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is also a relatively inexpensive meal to make, making it a great option for families on a budget. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, this stew is a great recipe for beginner cooks.
