1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 ½ cups biscuit mix
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed

Steps:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Whisk milk and eggs together in a bowl.

1 bunch fresh asparagus
1 c all purpose flour
1 c buttermilk
1 egg
2 splashes hot sauce
1 1/2 c self rising corn meal
1 Tbsp cajun seasoning
veg oil for frying
CREOLE SAUCE
1/4 tsp creole seasoning
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 c onion powder
3 Tbsp creole mustard
2 tsp dry ranch dip seasoning
2 shakes hot sauce
lemon juice of 1/2 of lemon
2/3 c sour cream
salt to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Rinse drain and snap off ends of asparagus.
  • 2. Shake asparagus in flour in plastic bag.
  • 3. Mix wet ingredients of buttermilk, egg and hot sauce. Dredge in wet ingredients.
  • 4. Then mix corn meal and cajun seassoning and dip asparagus in.
  • 5. Then put in hot oil and fry til golden brown (just a few mins).
  • 6. You Can eat just as is or make the creole sauce that Is at bottom of recipe.

1/4 c cornstarch
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp garlic salt

1 c flat beer or nonalcoholic beer
3 egg whites
2 1/2 lb fresh asparagus
ranch style dressing
OIL FOR DEEP FT FRYER

  • 1. In large bowl , combine first 7 ingredients: Combine beer and egg whites; stir just until mistened.. Dip asparagus into batter.. Heat oil to 375º.. Fry asparagus on each side 2 or 3 minutes or till golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
