LORRIE'S DILL DIP IN A BREAD BOWL

Lorrie's Dill Dip in a Bread Bowl image

This recipe is from my sister, I ask her to bring it to every get-together we have. It never lasts long. I love it so much that I have been known to eat the bread bowl the day after a party, because that is all the guests ever leave of it. It is also easy to prepare and looks really pretty on a buffet table. You can make it all a day ahead and just assemble it the day you want to serve it. ( We have never made it with the rye but the recipe indicates that either is called for so I assume it would be just as good)

Tips:

  • Choose the right type of rye bread. A hearty, dense rye bread will hold up well to the dip and provide a delicious contrast to the creamy filling.
  • Make sure the bread bowl is sturdy. You don't want the bread bowl to collapse when you fill it with dip. If you're using a store-bought bread bowl, be sure to check the bottom for any cracks or weak spots.
  • Don't overfill the bread bowl. Leave some room at the top so that the dip doesn't spill over.
  • Serve the dip immediately. This will prevent the bread bowl from getting soggy.
  • Garnish the dip with fresh herbs or vegetables. This will add a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Dill dip in a rye bread bowl is a delicious and easy appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up leftover rye bread, and it's sure to be a hit with your guests. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack, give this recipe a try.
