DREW'S SPECIAL RIB SAUCE
When Damon's Restaurant left our area, I had to create their wonderful rib sauce. This deliciously sweet, hickory-flavored sauce is my family's all-time favorite! When I want a little heat, I add some hot sauce to recipe. Great on chicken, pork chops, meatloaf, and country ribs, cooked in the oven or on the grill. It even makes good baked beans. However, for ribs that live up to their name, try the Best Babyback Ribs in Town, Recipe #57185. This recipe came from my cookbook, "True Southern Family Favorites".

Steps:
- Sprinkle the ribs all over with the rub and rub in well with your hands. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, up to overnight.
- Make sure the racks of the grill are set so they are 6-inches above the fire. Preheat the grill to high. When the grill is hot, turn off 1 side, or push the coals to 1 side. Place the ribs, fattier side down, on the cooler side of the grill and close the cover. Cook until browned, about 20 minutes. Turn the ribs over and continue to cook until the bones wiggle easily when twisted, about 1 1/2 hours, turning every 20 minutes or so.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Make the Spicy Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, honey, jalapeno, oregano, and salt and whisk well. Pour into a decorative bowl.
- Slice the ribs into desired size and serve with the Spicy Dipping Sauce.
- Mix all ingredients together and stir well.
THE BEST DANG RIB SAUCE, PERIOD
This sauce began as a dare to top an ex-boyfriend's father's locally famous sauce. Something magical happens when it hits the grill! Don't forget to add to the ribs in the last 5 to 10 minutes of cooking, or else the high sugar content will scorch. Don't let the strong smell of vinegar scare you while cooking; the flavor of the sauce after cooking does not reflect the scent that fills the kitchen while cooking.

Tips for Making Amazing Ribs:
- Choose the Right Ribs: Select high-quality pork ribs, such as baby back or spare ribs, with good marbling for tender and juicy results.
- Properly Prepare the Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to allow better penetration of the rub and sauce.
- Apply a Flavorful Rub: Create a flavorful rub using a blend of spices, herbs, and brown sugar to enhance the taste of the ribs.
- Low and Slow Cooking: Cook the ribs slowly and low, either in the oven, smoker, or on the grill, to achieve fall-off-the-bone tenderness.
- Baste Regularly: Baste the ribs periodically with your favorite sauce or marinade to keep them moist and prevent them from drying out.
- Use a Quality Sauce: Choose a sauce that complements the flavor of the ribs, whether it's a tangy BBQ sauce, a sweet and smoky glaze, or a spicy rub.
- Let the Ribs Rest: Allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes before serving to redistribute the juices and enhance the flavor.
