Beef Broccoli Stir-Fry image

My family often requests this tasty beef and broccoli stir fry. It's great because it combines tender beef and nutritious vegetables in one dish. We enjoy this broccoli beef recipe year-round but especially in summer, when I grow my own broccoli and onions. Plus, it doesn't heat up the kitchen. -Ruth Stahl, Shepherd, Montana

Beef And Broccoli Stir-Fry Recipe by Tasty image

It's your favorite take-out dish, but made exactly to your liking. And just like the classic Chinese-American dish, this recipe works great as leftovers when reheated in a microwave or over the stove. If you want to freshen it up, just chop up and throw in whatever vegetables you have in the fridge, like onions, bell peppers, or even water chestnuts.

Tips for Making the Best Broccoli and Beef Stir-Fry:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, tender broccoli and thinly sliced, high-quality beef are essential for a delicious stir-fry. Look for vibrant green broccoli florets and well-marbled beef for the best flavor and texture.
  • Marinate the beef: Marinating the beef in a flavorful mixture of soy sauce, rice wine, oyster sauce, and cornstarch helps tenderize it and infuse it with delicious flavors.
  • Cook the beef in a hot wok or skillet: A hot wok or skillet is essential for getting a good sear on the beef and preventing it from becoming tough. Make sure your wok or skillet is well-heated before adding the beef.
  • Stir-fry the broccoli and other vegetables: Once the beef is cooked, add the broccoli and other vegetables to the wok or skillet and stir-fry until tender-crisp. Don't overcrowd the wok or skillet, or the vegetables will steam instead of stir-frying.
  • Add the sauce: Add the prepared sauce to the wok or skillet and stir-fry until the vegetables and beef are evenly coated. The sauce should be thick and glossy.
  • Serve immediately: Stir-fried dishes are best served immediately, so make sure to have your rice or noodles ready before you start cooking.

Conclusion:

Broccoli and beef stir-fry is a quick, easy, and delicious meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of planning, you can have a flavorful and healthy stir-fry on the table in under 30 minutes. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give broccoli and beef stir-fry a try. You won't be disappointed!
