EASY CLASSIC DEVILED EGGS RECIPE - (4.4/5)

Easy Classic Deviled Eggs Recipe - (4.4/5) image

Provided by dkanon

Number Of Ingredients 5

6 hard-boiled eggs
1/3 cup shredded taco-seasoned cheese or Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons minced green onions

Steps:

  • Cut eggs lengthwise in half. Remove yolks to small bowl. Reserve whites. Mash yolks with fork. Add cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and green onions; mix well. Spoon 1 heaping tablespoon yolk mixture into each egg white half. Refrigerate, covered, to blend flavors.

Tips:

  • Use fresh eggs. Older eggs will have a less flavorful yolk and may not peel as easily.
  • Hard-boil your eggs perfectly. Overcooked eggs will have a green ring around the yolk and a rubbery texture. Undercooked eggs may not be safe to eat.
  • Peel your eggs immediately after boiling. This will help to prevent the shells from sticking to the eggs.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut your eggs in half. This will help to prevent the yolks from breaking.
  • Scoop out the yolks carefully. Use a spoon to gently scoop out the yolks, taking care not to break them.
  • Mash the yolks with a fork. This will help to make them smooth and creamy.
  • Add your desired fillings and seasonings. There are endless possibilities for deviled egg fillings, so get creative! Some popular options include mayonnaise, mustard, relish, celery, onion, and paprika.
  • Chill the deviled eggs before serving. This will help them to firm up and make them more flavorful.

Conclusion:

Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a little creativity, you can create delicious and unique deviled eggs that will impress your guests. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give deviled eggs a try!
