Tips:
- Choose the right cut of meat: London broil is typically made from flank steak, but you can also use top blade steak or skirt steak. Look for a cut that is at least 1 inch thick and has good marbling.
- Marinade the steak: Marinating the steak for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) will help to tenderize it and add flavor. You can use a simple marinade made with olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, and herbs, or you can try a more complex marinade with ingredients like yogurt, honey, and Dijon mustard.
- Cook the steak over high heat: London broil is best cooked over high heat so that it gets a nice sear on the outside and stays tender on the inside. You can cook it in a pan on the stovetop, on a grill, or in the oven.
- Let the steak rest before slicing: Once the steak is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more tender and flavorful.
- Slice the steak thinly: London broil is typically sliced thinly, across the grain. This will help to make it more tender and easier to chew.
Conclusion:
London broil is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Whether you are grilling it outdoors or cooking it in a pan on the stovetop, London broil is sure to be a hit. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, this recipe is perfect for even the most novice of cooks. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy meal, give London broil a try.
