Steps:
- Dump the chopped garlic, chopped onion, salt and pepper in either wine or beer to equal about 1 cup and combine well.
- Dump the chicken breast and vegetables in the mixture and marinate for a couple of hours or overnight.
- In an oiled hot iron pan, sauté the chicken, peppers, onion slices and diced tomatoes until done.
- Slice the chicken and serve immediately with warmed tortillas.
- Serve with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, chopped chilies and salsa.
Tips:
- Mise en place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready. This will help you stay organized and prevent any scrambling.
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your fajitas will taste. Look for brightly colored vegetables and tender, juicy meat.
- Marinate your meat: Marinating your meat will help it to tenderize and absorb flavor. You can use a simple marinade made with olive oil, lime juice, garlic, and cumin, or you can get creative and try a more complex marinade.
- Cook your meat over high heat: This will help to create a nice char on the outside while keeping the inside tender and juicy.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: If you overcrowd the pan, the meat will not cook evenly and will end up steamed instead of seared.
- Cook the vegetables until they are tender-crisp: You don't want the vegetables to be too soft or mushy, so aim for a tender-crisp texture.
- Serve your fajitas immediately: Fajitas are best served hot off the grill. Serve them with warm tortillas, your favorite toppings, and a dollop of sour cream or guacamole.
Conclusion:
Fajitas are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With a little planning and preparation, you can have a delicious fajita dinner on the table in no time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give fajitas a try. You won't be disappointed!
