This is different from the other "Fall Apple Dip" posted as my recipe uses yogurt. It is so good, creamy, and pretty healthy, too!

Time 15m

Yield 3 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (can use light version if desired)
8 ounces plain yogurt (can use light varieties, if desired. If you use vanilla yogurt, adjust vanilla, below, as required)
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla (to taste)
1/2 cup peanuts, crushed (optional)
apples (Granny Smith is best) or other fruit, cut for serving

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese, yogurt, brown sugar, vanilla, and (if used) peanuts.
  • Beat rapidly with electric mixer until smooth and fluffy. The consistency will be almost like frosting.
  • Serve with sliced Granny Smith apples or other fruits; I have not found any fruit that this doesn't pair well with.

I love this beacause it has lovely crunchy apples, and a sweet, nutty creamy dip. I do this often if the fall when the apples are at their best.

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 oz honey nut cream cheese spread
1/2 c brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 c salted peanuts, chopped rough
2 large apples,of different colors
1 c orange juice

Steps:

  • 1. Blend together everything but apples and orange juice.
  • 2. Wash, core, and slice apples.
  • 3. Put the orange juice in a zip lock bag.
  • 4. Add the apples and shake to coat well. Drain well before putting on serving tray.
  • 5. Put the dip in a pretty bowl, and arrange the apples around the dip

Tips:

  • To create a creamy and rich apple dip, opt for a cream cheese base and incorporate ingredients like sour cream, yogurt, or mascarpone cheese.
  • For a healthier alternative, try using Greek yogurt as the base and reduce the amount of sugar or honey used in the recipe.
  • Apples are the star of the show, so choose varieties that are firm, crisp, and flavorful. Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady are great choices.
  • To achieve a balanced flavor, adjust the sweetness of the dip according to the tartness of the apples used.
  • Consider adding a touch of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom to enhance the flavors of the apples and dip.
  • If you prefer a smooth and velvety texture, peel and core the apples before blending or pureeing them.
  • For a chunky dip with a rustic charm, chop the apples into small pieces instead of pureeing them.

Conclusion:

With its versatility and endless flavor possibilities, apple dip is an autumnal treat that can be enjoyed in various ways. Whether you prefer a creamy, smooth dip, a chunky rustic dip, or a healthier yogurt-based dip, there's a recipe that suits every taste and occasion. Experiment with different apple varieties, spices, and add-ins to create a dip that perfectly complements your favorite snacks and gatherings. So next time you're looking for a delightful dip to share with friends and family, consider whipping up a fall-inspired apple dip and enjoy the vibrant flavors of the season.
