Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 medium zucchini (about a pound)
1 c prepared pancake mix
1 egg
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying

Steps:

  • 1. Wash zucchini and cut it in 1/2 inch slices. Combine pancake mix, egg, flavored powders, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper with 1 cup of water. Stir until well mixed. Dip zucchini slices in batter, then fry in hot fat until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Tips:

  • Slice zucchini evenly: This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from falling apart.
  • Use a sharp knife: A sharp knife will make clean cuts and prevent the zucchini from tearing.
  • Dry zucchini before frying: This will help the coating adhere and prevent the zucchini from becoming soggy.
  • Use a light coating of breadcrumbs: Too much breading will make the zucchini greasy and heavy.
  • Fry zucchini in hot oil: This will help them cook quickly and evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: Overcrowding will cause the zucchini to steam instead of fry.
  • Fry zucchini until golden brown: This will ensure that they are cooked through and crispy.
  • Drain zucchini on paper towels: This will help remove excess oil.
  • Serve zucchini with your favorite dipping sauce: Some popular options include ranch dressing, ketchup, and marinara sauce.

Conclusion:

French fried zucchini is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or side dish. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a crispy, flavorful dish that everyone will love. Whether you're serving it at a party or enjoying it as a snack, french fried zucchini is sure to be a hit.
