Number Of Ingredients 11

8 oz cream cheese
2 Tbsp milk
2 1/2 oz dried beef, shredded
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 c green pepper, finely chopped
1/2 tsp salt
4 green onions and tops, chopped fine
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 c chopped pecans
2 Tbsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. Combine cheese and milk, mix well. Stir in beef, pepper, onion, and seasonings. Mix well and fold in sour cream. Spread in 8" pie plate. Heat pecans in butter, 2 T or so, and 1/2 t salt. Sprinkle over cheese. Bake at 350 degrees 20 min. Serve with crackers, sliced white bread, trimmed of crust and quartered, toasted crisp would also be good with this.

Tips:

  • Use fresh pecans. Fresh pecans have a sweeter, more delicate flavor than stale pecans. If you can't find fresh pecans, you can use frozen pecans, but be sure to thaw them completely before using.
  • Toast the pecans. Toasting the pecans brings out their flavor and makes them more fragrant. You can toast them in a skillet over medium heat, or in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.
  • Use a food processor or high-powered blender. This will help you achieve a smooth, creamy spread.
  • Don't over-process the spread. You want it to be smooth, but not so smooth that it loses its texture.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins. You can add chopped dried fruit, chocolate chips, or even bacon bits to your gala pecan spread. Get creative and have fun!

Conclusion:

Gala pecan spread is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used on a variety of foods. It's perfect for spreading on sandwiches, crackers, or toast. It can also be used as a dip for fruit, vegetables, or chips. And it's even good enough to eat on its own! So next time you're looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy pecans, give gala pecan spread a try. You won't be disappointed.
