Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: For the best results, use a variety of potato that is good for roasting, such as Yukon Gold, Russet, or Red Potatoes. These potatoes will hold their shape well and become tender and fluffy when baked.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: Cutting the potatoes into uniform pieces will help them cook evenly. Aim for pieces that are about 1-inch thick.
  • Season the potatoes well: Don't be afraid to season the potatoes liberally with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add other herbs and spices, such as rosemary, thyme, or paprika, to taste.
  • Roast the potatoes at a high temperature: Roasting the potatoes at a high temperature will help them get crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Aim for a temperature of 425°F (220°C).
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When roasting the potatoes, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly. If necessary, roast the potatoes in batches.
  • Stir the potatoes occasionally: Stirring the potatoes occasionally will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking to the pan.
  • Roast the potatoes until they are tender: The potatoes are done roasting when they are tender when pierced with a fork. This should take about 20-30 minutes.
