from Sunny Anderson of Food Network...these are AMAZING! They are slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My family LOVED them! It is very important that you use the parchment paper on your cookie sheets. It helps your cookies to not spread too much and to not stick to the cookie sheet!

GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE-MIX COOKIES RECIPE - (4.3/5)

German Chocolate Cake-Mix Cookies Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by clawson

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 (6 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine dry cake mix, eggs, butter and oats. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto greased baking sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes at 350°. Cool 5 minutes then remove to wire rack.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. The quality of the chocolate you use will make a big difference in the flavor of your cookies. Use a good-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best results.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking. Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. The cookies should be slightly soft in the center when you take them out of the oven. They will continue to firm up as they cool.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

These German chocolate cake cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They are perfect for any occasion, from birthday parties to holiday gatherings. With their rich chocolate flavor and gooey coconut-pecan filling, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
