GRANDMA'S FRENCH TOAST

Grandma's French Toast image

This is how my family makes French toast. This was from my Grandma; she learned it from the place she worked at. You can use regular white bread or cut French bread on the diagonal about 1/2 inch thick. The day old bread at WalMart works great. I am going to bow to the pressure of adding milk to this. My family likes it without but if your family likes it with you can certainly add it.

Tips:

  • Use stale bread for the best French toast. Stale bread absorbs the egg mixture more easily, resulting in a crispier, more flavorful toast.
  • If you don't have stale bread, you can toast fresh bread in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-10 minutes before using it.
  • Use a mixture of milk and eggs for the egg mixture. This will help to make the French toast more rich and creamy.
  • Add some spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla extract, to the egg mixture for extra flavor.
  • Cook the French toast over medium heat. This will help to prevent it from burning.
  • Flip the French toast once, when the bottom is golden brown. This will help to ensure that it is cooked evenly.
  • Serve the French toast immediately with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

French toast is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a meal that is both satisfying and flavorful.
