Time 25m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 lb 85% lean ground beef
½ cup bread crumbs
4 tablespoons french onion soup mix
1 ½ lb petite marble medley potato
1 lb baby carrot
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup BBQ sauce, or ketchup, for glazing

Steps:

  • Prepare a grill or campfire for medium heat.
  • In a medium bowl, gently mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, and French onion soup mix until well combined.
  • Lay out 6 large rectangles of heavy duty aluminum foil, about 20 x 12 inches (50 x 30 cm) each.
  • Place about 6 potatoes and 4 carrots on a piece of foil. Season with salt and pepper. Form about 5 ounces of beef mixture into a patty and place on top of the vegetable pile. Fold the foil over and crimp the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  • Place the packets on the grill over medium heat. Cook for 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the beef patties are cooked through.

Time 1h8m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 lb ground chuck or 1 lb ground round
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 can condensed golden mushroom soup
1 cup seasoned stuffing mix (prepared as is on box -- I use Peppridge Farm Stuffing Mix, but any kind will do)

Steps:

  • Mix milk and ground meat.
  • Divide into 4 patties.
  • Put 1/4 cup of stuffing in center of each patty.
  • Mold the meat around the stuffing to form a ball.
  • Place in an 8x8-inch pan.
  • Add the soup (undiluted).
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Baste several times.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality ground beef. Opt for a leaner ground beef, such as 90% lean or 85% lean, to reduce the amount of grease in the dish.
  • Use a variety of spices and seasonings. This will help to give the ground beef bundles a flavorful and complex taste. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, and paprika.
  • Don't overcook the ground beef. Overcooked ground beef will be tough and dry. Cook it just until it is no longer pink in the center, about 7-8 minutes.
  • Let the ground beef bundles rest before slicing. This will help to keep the juices in the meat and prevent it from drying out.
  • Serve the ground beef bundles with your favorite sides. Some good options include mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.

Conclusion:

Ground beef bundles are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal or for a special occasion. With a variety of recipes to choose from, there is sure to be a ground beef bundle recipe that everyone will love.
