3 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (16 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup rinsed and drained canned black-eyed peas
1 (15 ounce) can low sodium tomato sauce
1 dried habanero pepper, chopped

Tips for Cooking with Habanero Peppers

  • Wear gloves when handling habanero peppers. The oils from the peppers can cause irritation to your skin.
  • Remove the seeds and ribs from the peppers before using. This will help to reduce the heat level of the peppers.
  • Use habanero peppers sparingly. A little goes a long way!
  • Start with a mild habanero pepper and gradually increase the heat level as you get used to it.
  • If you accidentally get habanero pepper oil on your skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water.
  • If you eat too many habanero peppers, you may experience stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. If this happens, drink plenty of milk or water and seek medical attention if necessary.

Conclusion

Habanero peppers are a delicious and versatile ingredient that can add a lot of heat and flavor to your dishes. However, it's important to use them sparingly and to take precautions when handling them. By following these tips, you can enjoy the benefits of habanero peppers without putting yourself at risk.
