2 tablespoons butter
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 5 minutes; drain.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute onion in hot butter until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef to skillet in small chunks; cook and stir to break the beef into smaller pieces as it cooks until no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture, stir, and cook for 1 minute. Stir mushrooms and garlic salt into the beef mixture. Pour mushroom soup and chicken soup over beef, stir, and cook until hot, about 5 minutes; add sour cream, stir until smooth, and cook until again hot, 2 to 3 minutes more. Pour beef mixture over the cooked egg noodles.

1 yellow onions, chopped or 1 tablespoon dried onion
2 cups cooked white rice
1 (4 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger and onion over medium heat in a large skillet (one with a lid). Drain off excess fat.
  • Add the rice, tomato, water, salt and pepper. Mix well and cover pan with lid. Simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  • Check halfway to see if you feel it needs a few tablespoons of water added. Stir and then sprinkle the cheese over top. Don't mix in, allow to melt over top while it finishes simmering.

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed (can leave unpeeled if desired)
cooking oil
salt and pepper
red pepper flakes, optional
1 (10-oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 c sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2. In heavy (oven safe) skillet over meduim heat; brown beef and onions. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Drain off excess oil or blot out with paper towels. NOTE: I used a cast iron skillet.
  • 3. Meanwhile in another skillet over medium/high heat, coat bottom of skillet with oil. Heat oil; add potatoes to hot oil. Season with salt & pepper and red pepper flakes. Fry potatoes until they start browning. They need to be almost done. They will continue cooking in oven. NOTE: If there is excess oil, slide potatoes to the side and blot excess oil up with paper towels.
  • 4. Add cream of mushroom soup to beef; stir to mix. Add potatoes and 1 cup of cheese, toss to mix. Top with remaining cheese.
  • 5. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Should be bubbly around the edges of skillet before you remove from oven. This time is based on all ingredients being hot before going into the oven.

2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes, diced

6 beef bouillon cubes or 6 teaspoons beef bouillon granules, i personally recommend western family brand if you can find it
1/4 teaspoon pepper, i add more than this to your taste
1/2 cup uncooked orzo pasta
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, peas, corn, carrots, beans
serve with French bread

Steps:

  • Cook the ground beef, onion, garlic.
  • Puree tomatoes in blender, or puree half and leave some in pieces.
  • Put cooked beef, tomatoes, water, bouillon, and pepper in large pot.
  • Bring to a boil and reduce to low; simmer uncovered 20 minutes.
  • Add orzo and vegetables, simmer 15 more minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Serve with French bread or crusty rolls!

2 Tbsp active dry yeast
1 c + 2 tb. warm water (110-115 degrees)
1/3 c vegetable oil
1/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dill weed or caraway seed optional
3 to 3 1/2 c all purpose flour

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the egg, salt and optional herbs and mix with whisk. Add enough flour (3 cups) to make a soft dough and stir together with a rubber spatula.
  • 2. turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 3 to 5 minutes. Do not let rise. Divide into 12 pieces and shape each into a ball. Place 3 inches apart on a couple of greased baking sheets.
  • 3. cover and let rest for about 20 minutes. Bake on center rack in oven at 420 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

1/2 c onion,finely chopped
1/8 tsp garlic powder
4 oz can mushroom steams and pieces, drained
10 3/4 oz can golden mushroom soup, you can substitute cream of mushroom
1/4 c cheddar cheese, grated
1 Tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 c yogurt, ( i use fat free sour cream)
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
3 c rice, cooked

Steps:

  • 1. Break meat into small chunks in skillet. Cook fat out od meat and spoon off grease. Add onion, garlic powder, mushroom soup, cheese, flour and salt and pepper. Mix well and cover skillet. Cook over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Stir in yogurt and worcestershire sauce thoroughly, heat but do not boil so it will not curdle. Pour into serving dish and sprinkle with parsely. Serve with hot rice.
