I got this recipe from a friend years ago but never tried it until recently. What a waste of time. I've tweaked it a little and I love it!! Don't know why it's called Hawaiian but it sure is good. Servings are approximate - it makes a bunch.

1 lb butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon cayenne
8 ounces Wheat Chex
8 ounces Corn Chex
8 ounces Rice Chex
10 ounces Cheerios toasted oat cereal
10 ounces small pretzels
1 lb mixed nuts

Steps:

  • Melt and simmer butter, sugar and spices until sugar dissolves.
  • Pour over the rest of the ingredients and bake at 225 degrees for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
