SPECIAL MEATLOAF WITH HEINZ 57 SAUCE

Special Meatloaf With Heinz 57 Sauce image

My grandmother shared this recipe with me many years ago. It's been our family favorite ever since. I generally use very lean ground beef and it's still nice and moist. Wonderful left over on sandwiches! Although meatloaf is enjoyed throughout the entire U.S., this version gives credit to the region where Heinz 57 became a household word - the Mid-Atlantic region.

HEINZ 57® COPYCAT

Heinz 57® Copycat image

Someone left the bottle empty in the fridge (well, just a few drops is the same as empty). I had just enough to copy it, then when I brought a sample to my unsuspecting taste-tester, he liked mine better than the original! I washed my Heinz 57® bottle, multiplied this recipe to fill 'er up, and haven't bought another name brand since. Hope you like it!

HEINZ 57 CHEDDAR MEATLOAF

Heinz 57 Cheddar Meatloaf image

Not your average meatloaf! The Heinz 57 sauce just gives this great flavor, not too strong, just like a hidden ingredient! I always serve with Catalina dressing to dip it in...AWESOME! The leftovers make great meatloaf sandwiches I butter two slices of bread, put on med. heat frying pan, top one slice with cheese, top cheese with fresh sliced mushrooms then add warmed meatloaf on top, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown. On the other toasted slice spread mayo. Top meatloaf with a good amount of Heinz 57 and place the two pieces together. Y-U-M.
