I sprinkle a little paprika on top before baking to give it some color. Prep time does not include time it takes to boil the potatoes.

Tips:
- Choose the right potato: Different types of potatoes have different starch and moisture contents, which can affect the texture and flavor of your dish. Russet potatoes are a good all-purpose choice, but you can also use Yukon Gold, red potatoes, or fingerling potatoes.
- Cut the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If you are roasting or baking the potatoes, cut them into uniform-sized pieces so that they cook at the same rate.
- Season the potatoes well: Salt and pepper are essential, but you can also add other herbs and spices to taste. Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme are all popular choices.
- Use a high enough temperature: Roasting or baking potatoes at a high temperature will help them get crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Aim for a temperature of at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: When roasting or baking potatoes, make sure to spread them out in a single layer on the pan. This will allow them to cook evenly and get crispy.
- Toss the potatoes halfway through cooking: This will help them brown evenly. If you are roasting the potatoes, you can also add a little oil or butter to the pan at this point.
- Don't overcook the potatoes: Potatoes are done cooking when they are tender when pierced with a fork. Overcooked potatoes will be mushy.
Conclusion:
Holiday potatoes are a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a side dish or a main course. With so many different ways to prepare them, there is sure to be a recipe that everyone will enjoy.
