This is an automatic bread maker recipe. The bread is my son's favourite. It is great for sandwiches, toast, and bread pudding.

Steps:
- 1. Put ingredients except walnuts in breadmaker according to the manufacturers instructions. This makes a 1 1/2 lb loaf. Use whole wheat setting.
- 2. At the beep add the walnuts.
- 3. After baking remove from pan and cool before slicing.
- 4. Note:I usually use the dough cycle and form the bread into one medium loaf and a couple of little loaves. Let them rise until doubled in size (about 30 - 40 minutes). Then bake them in the oven at 375 degrees F. for 45 minutes for the larger loaf and 30 minutes for the little ones. I prefer to test them with an instant-read thermometer. Internal temperature should be 200 degrees F.

Tips:
- To ensure the bread has a moist and tender texture, use ripe bananas. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful the bread will be.
- If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of regular milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes before using.
- To add a crunchy texture to the bread, toast the oats in a skillet over medium heat until they are golden brown and fragrant. This will also help to bring out their flavor.
- If you want a sweeter bread, you can add up to 1/2 cup of honey. You can also add other sweeteners, such as maple syrup or brown sugar, to taste.
- Be sure to grease the loaf pan well before pouring in the batter. This will help to prevent the bread from sticking.
- Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This usually takes about 45-50 minutes.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help to prevent it from crumbling.
Conclusion:
This honey nut oatmeal bread is a delicious and nutritious breakfast or snack. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With its moist and tender texture, sweet and flavorful taste, and crunchy oatmeal topping, this bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
