I found this recipe on another website and decided to try it out during a family get together. Everyone loved it and it only lasted 10 minutes at the party! Its not that same old recipe with mini viennas, this one is different and great tasting! If you want to have enough for you to try, better make extra!

2 lbs hot dogs
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 cups ketchup
1 (12 ounce) can beer

Steps:

  • Mix brown sugar, ketchup and beer together in a large sauce pan.
  • Cut up the hot dogs into bite size pieces and drop into the brown sugar mixture.
  • Heat on low heat about 45 minutes or until the hot dogs start to plump and burst at the edges.
  • Serve from a hot dish or in a crock pot. Mine never made it to the hot plate, everyone ate it before I had the chance! Next time I'll make extra.

½ cup bourbon

Steps:

  • Mix hot dogs, brown sugar, ketchup, and bourbon in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until hot dogs are cooked through and evenly coated, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a slow cooker to keep warm for serving.

6 OSCAR MAYER Wieners, cut into thirds
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. chipotle chile pepper powder

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Wrap 1 bacon piece around each wiener piece; roll in combined sugar, cinnamon and chile pepper powder until evenly coated.
  • Place, seam sides down, on foil-covered rimmed baking sheet.
  • Bake 22 to 24 min. or until bacon is crisp and golden brown, turning after 12 min.

12 hot dogs (1 package hot dogs, but 'zaar wouldn't let me post it worded that way, all beef, pork, whatever you)
1 cup ketchup
1 -2 cup corn flake crumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Pour the ketchup into a bowl.
  • Pour the cornflake crumbs out onto a pie plate.
  • Cut the weiners into thirds, so they are about the size of a cocktail frank.
  • Roll the weiners in the ketchup to coat.
  • Roll the weiners in the crumbs to coat.
  • Place on a baking sheet (covered in foil for easy cleanup) that has been lightly sprayed with non stick spray.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are browned slightly.
  • Insert a toothpick into each weiner and serve with a bowl of ketchup for dipping. (Or use your favourite dipping sauce).
