1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon ground cardamom

1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
3 tablespoons butter, divided
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger
1 cup tomato puree
1 cup half-and-half
¼ cup plain yogurt
⅓ cup cashews
1 bunch fresh cilantro, stems removed

Steps:

  • Mix garam masala, tandoori masala, curry, cumin, cardamom, cayenne, salt, and black pepper together in a small bowl to make spice mixture.

1 cup butter, divided
1 onion, minced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 cups heavy cream
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 ½ pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized chunks
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons tandoori masala

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

500 g chicken breasts (or chicken thighs or a mix of both)
1 onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted cashews
1/2 cup plain 1% yogurt
1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
1 piece gingerroot, fresh (walnut size)
2 plum tomatoes, chopped
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste (if you want a thicker sauce, can be omitted)
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/8 teaspoon clove
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon butter (for browning of chicken)
