An interesting twist on an age old favorite. Use your favorite shaped pasta - bow ties, shells, penne, etc...Can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated, but allow extra time for baking.

16 ounces pasta
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
½ cup bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
¼ cup olive oil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 pound lean ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce

Steps:

  • In a medium pot cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well.
  • Cook spinach according to package directions.
  • Meanwhile, brown ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, and pasta sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Combine cooked spinach, cooked pasta, bread crumbs, shredded cheese, beaten eggs, and olive oil.

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 jar (14 ounces) spaghetti sauce
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
1 package (16 ounces) spiral pasta, cooked and drained
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1-1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef with onion, salt, pepper and garlic powder until the onion is tender; drain. Stir in the spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste and mushrooms. Bring to a boil; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. , Combine the spinach, noodles, eggs, bread crumbs and cheddar cheese; place half in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with half of meat sauce. 1 pound medium seashell pasta
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
1 pound lean ground beef
2 (26 ounce) jars pasta sauce
8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Cook spinach according to package directions; drain.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until brown; drain. In a large bowl, stir together cooked beef, spinach, pasta sauce and all but 1/4 cup of the Cheddar cheese. Reserve 2 cups of sauce mixture. Stir the pasta shells into the remaining sauce mixture. Pour shell mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish and top with reserved sauce and sprinkle with reserved cheese.

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon salad oil
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
1 (16 ounce) can pasta sauce with mushrooms
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 (7 ounce) package shell pasta or 1 (7 ounce) package elbow macaroni noodles, cooked
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup soft breadcrumbs
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 cup salad oil

Steps:

  • Brown first three ingredients in the 1 tablespoon salad oil.
  • Cook spinach according to package directions.
  • Drain, reserving liquid; add water to make 1 cup.
  • Stir spinach liquid and next 5 ingredients into meat mixture.

1 lb ground sirloin,( i perfer to use hot italian sausage)
1 Tbsp oil
1 can(s) spaghetti sauce
1/2 pkg (6oz) mostaccoli macaroni, ( i use whole grain)
1 pkg (10oz) frozen chopped spinach
1 c american cheese, grated
1/2 c soft bread crumbs
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 c italian grated cheese
3 clove garlic
1/2 tsp oregano, dried
1 Tbsp dried parsley
1/4 c olive oil, extra virgin
1/2 c chopped onion
1/4 c italian cheese grated

Steps:

  • 1. Brown meat onion and garlic in oil. Drain off excess grease. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste (diluted with 3 cans of water), dried parsely, oregano, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes. Cook the mastaccoli macaroni as directed on package. Strain and rinse off with cold water. Put back in pan in which it was cooked. Add spinach,American cheese, crumbs, egg, oil and italian grated cheese. Spread mixture in 13x9x2-in. baking dish. Top with meat mixture. Sprinkle italian grated cheese on top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
