EASY KRAFT MACARONI AND CHEESE CASSEROLE

Categories     Recipes

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 boxes cheese
1 pounds ground beef
26 ounces condensed tomato soup
1 units seasoning salt

Steps:

  • Preheat over to 400°F. Make the Mac and Cheese as normal, but leave the noodles slightly uncooked still, that "1 more minute" point. While it is cooking fry the ground beef and leave it unseasoned or season as you like, I use a little Montreal Steak Seasoning. Mix the Mac and Cheese, ground beef and tomato soup together.
  • Pour into a 9x13 baking dish, top with cheese and a light sprinkle of seasoning salt. I always put this on a cookie sheet, it bubbles over the tiniest amount sometimes.
  • Put in oven and bake 20-30 minutes, or until cheese is completely melted and slightly golden. Cool for a few minutes, serve and enjoy!

Time 1h

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 ½ cups elbow macaroni
1 (8 ounce) package processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup milk
8 slices American cheese (such as Kraft®)
1 (8 ounce) package buttery round crackers (such as Ritz®), crushed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease an 11x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 minutes. Drain. Transfer to a bowl, add processed cheese cubes, and let stand until cheese partially melts.
  • Place ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, break meat apart with a spatula, and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook and stir until beef is browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  • Stir Cheddar cheese soup, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and onion together in a bowl; gently fold macaroni and processed cheese mixture into soup mixture. Stir in milk until thoroughly combined. Mix ground beef into macaroni mixture and spread into prepared baking dish. Top casserole with slices of American cheese and sprinkle cracker crumbs on top. Cover casserole with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until casserole is bubbling, about 20 minutes; remove foil and bake until top is golden brown, about 10 more minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose your ground beef wisely. For a richer flavor, opt for ground chuck or sirloin. If you're watching your fat intake, ground turkey or chicken can be a healthier alternative.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when browning the ground beef. This will cause the meat to steam rather than brown, resulting in a less flavorful dish.
  • To save time, you can cook the ground beef and macaroni separately. Just be sure to drain the macaroni well before adding it to the casserole.
  • If you want a cheesy, gooey casserole, use a combination of cheddar and mozzarella cheese. For a sharper flavor, try using Parmesan or Romano cheese.
  • Serve the casserole immediately, or let it sit for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the casserole to set.

Conclusion:

Kraft macaroni and cheese with ground beef casserole is a quick and easy meal that's perfect for busy weeknights. It's also a great way to use up leftover ground beef. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal on the table that the whole family will love.
