LAURA'S CHOCOLATE-PEANUT BUTTER DREAMS

LAURA'S CHOCOLATE-PEANUT BUTTER DREAMS image

Categories     Cookies     Chocolate     Nut     Dessert     Bake     Kid-Friendly

Yield 12 cookies, or 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

chocolate (chips and morsels)
butter
flour
peanut butter
egg
vanilla
salt
sugar

Steps:

  • 2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate 12 oz of semi-sweet choc. morsels 1/2 t of vanilla 1/4 t of salt 3/4 C of sugar 3/4 C of flour 1 egg 1/2 C of butter 1/2 C of peanut butter Mix sugar and butter and salt in blender until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and blend. Add flour and blend. Melt all chocolate in double boiler and blend into the mix. Fold in peanut butter. Sometimes I let the dough chill a little and this might help keep the cookies from flattening out. Bake in 350 degree oven for 8 1/2 minutes, until firm and beginning to texture on the outside. Don't overbake!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The better the chocolate, the better your peanut butter dreams will taste. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Be patient when melting the chocolate: It's important to melt the chocolate slowly and gently to avoid burning it. Use a double boiler or microwave the chocolate in short bursts, stirring in between.
  • Use a good quality peanut butter: Creamy peanut butter will work best in this recipe. If you use a natural peanut butter, be sure to stir it well before using.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: The cookies will continue to bake on the cookie sheet after they are removed from the oven. So, it's important to bake them just until they are set in the center.

Conclusion:

These chocolate peanut butter dreams are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They're rich, chocolatey, and peanut buttery, with a soft and chewy texture. Whether you're a fan of chocolate or peanut butter, or both, you're sure to love these cookies.
