Tips:

  • Choose the right lemons. Meyer lemons are the best choice for lemon drop martinis because they are sweeter and less tart than other varieties. If you can't find Meyer lemons, you can use regular lemons, but you may need to add a little more simple syrup to taste.
  • Make your own simple syrup. Simple syrup is easy to make and it's much better than store-bought syrup. To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then remove from heat and let cool.
  • Use fresh herbs. Fresh herbs, such as basil, mint, or thyme, can add a nice touch of flavor to lemon drop martinis. If you don't have any fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but be sure to use less since they are more concentrated.
  • Don't overshake the martini. Shaking the martini too much will dilute it and make it watery. Shake the martini just until the ingredients are combined and chilled, about 10 seconds.
  • Serve the martini immediately. Lemon drop martinis are best served immediately after they are made. If you let them sit for too long, the ice will melt and the martini will become watery.

Conclusion:

Lemon drop martinis are a classic cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make the perfect lemon drop martini that will impress your friends and family.
