JALAPENO-LIME-GARLIC JELLY

Jalapeno-Lime-Garlic Jelly image

This is the ultimate flavor combination. Uses are endless from a topping for cream cheese to a grill sauce for lamb chops or mix well with sour cream for a dip for quesadillas! The pretty green color comes from the zest of the lime, not food coloring. You can make this as spicy as you like by including the pepper's seeds and membranes, or not. The 24 hour cooking time is just the time it takes for the jelly to set up. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • To achieve the perfect jelly consistency, it's crucial to use the correct ratio of ingredients. For every cup of fruit juice, use 1 tablespoon of powdered gelatin and 1/4 cup of sugar.
  • Ensure that the gelatin is completely dissolved before adding it to the fruit juice mixture. This will prevent lumps from forming in the jelly.
  • Allow the jelly to chill for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to ensure it has fully set.
  • For a refreshing twist, consider adding citrus fruits like lemon, orange, or grapefruit to the jelly.
  • If you want a more vibrant color, use fresh fruit juice instead of store-bought juice.
  • To create a layered jelly, pour different colored jelly mixtures into the mold in succession, allowing each layer to set before adding the next.
  • For an elegant presentation, garnish the jelly with fresh fruit, whipped cream, or mint leaves before serving.
